In the county of San Diego, homes applying solar panels to their rooftops will qualify to receive an added $5 million in rebates. California has ambitions to decrease carbon fuel emissions by 80 percent by 2050, and rooftop solar has become one route to take for its residents to aid in reaching that goal. Due to the success of the solar rebate program that began in 2007, San Diego rebates ran out by January. Since the initiative has been revised, many positive changes are in store for customers who will partake in the program now that it had been extended.
