Mayer Hall, which houses the Physics Department at UCSD, was outfitted with a solar energy system by Sullivan Solar Power in 2014. The solar panel system for the building can generate 156 kilowatts of clean, renewable electricity straight from the sun and consists of 408 Sunpower modules and two Advanced Energy inverters that were ballasted mounted on the roof of the building.
Performance
This
solar power installation by Sullivan Solar Power is part of the solar energy revolution and generating clean, renewable electricity for UCSD Mayer Hall. On average, each year a solar energy system this size will:
Generate 235,125 to 313,500 kilowatt hours of clean renewable solar power.
Avoid the creation of 388,740 pounds of harmful carbon dioxide released into our air.
Provide the system owner with $68,970 in Solar Power Savings.
