Position Title: Director of Commercial Development  

Reports To:  President

Status: Exempt

Office: San Diego Headquarters

 

­Summary:

This job will allow you to design and sell the best products in the market for the top installer. The successful candidate always looks to improve work quality, is highly articulate, self-motivated and is a well-organized closer that exceeds sales quotas with integrity. We are headquartered in San Diego, with offices in Riverside, Orange County, with more to come (this position located at our Miramar, San Diego office).

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Both directly and indirectly, through the Project Development team, develop commercial and municipal photovoltaic grid interconnected systems
• Develop and oversee development processes and procedures and hold department accountable to those procedures
• Establish and foster business development relationships to facilitate commercial and municipal business growth
• Coordinate with all other relevant departments to deliver collective company goals
• Develop, update, and hold department accountable to performance metrics
• Develop, plan, and implement marketing plan for commercial and municipal development
• Participate in candidate interview and selection processes
• Perform employee performance reviews
• Any directive from the President of the company which will facilitate continued growth and profitability of the company

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelors' or Associates Degree from accredited university in Business, Finance or Engineering and 2+ years’ experience in the specification, sales, design and analysis of photovoltaic systems; equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted
• Sales Experience and proven track record
• Expert fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCad (We provide Training)
• Excellent analytical skills with knowledge of finance/business concepts (ROI, NPV, Payback)
• Knowledge of the solar marketplace, technology and industry
• Experience managing sales/development teams
• Drive toward solution and results
• Excellent communication and customer service skills and experience
• Proven track record in closing sales
• Experience in business to consumer selling environments
• Effectively can educate the public about solar electricity
• Communicate information both orally and in writing
• Prioritize and complete a variety of simultaneous tasks

 

Other:

• Preference given to LEED AP and/or NABCEP certified applicants
• 45-55% domestic travel within assigned area
• Ability to work on roofs and ladders
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
