Rancho Bernardo is a master-planned community located in inland San Diego County, about 20 miles north of downtown San Diego. Located on land that was part of the Rancho San Bernardo Mexican land grant of 1842, Rancho Bernardo was built up with homes and commercial buildings in the 1960s and 1970s. Since then, the area has grown even more as more people drawn to the cheaper property, master-planned community amenities and top-quality schools have settled there.
Sullivan Solar Power is an established Rancho Bernardo solar power company and the community figures largely in our history, since it is the hometown of our founder and president, Daniel Sullivan.
With larger residential lot sizes and bright inland sun that shines most of the year, Rancho Bernardo is home to many solar panel installations. Bigger-than-average lots mean solar arrays can be mounted either on the roof of a home or business or on the ground. This means there are more options to achieve the optimal placement of solar power equipment and realize the best possible results.
Rancho Bernardo residents and businesses are benefitting from going solar. By eliminating or reducing their utility bills and generating clean, green and renewable solar power, Rancho Bernardo solar power customers are showing that our world can run on the power of the sun.
Each year, solar power in Rancho Bernardo keeps more than $3 million in savings in the community's economy while avoiding the creation of more than 17 million pounds of carbon dioxide. There are now more than 26,000 solar panels working in Rancho Bernardo and generating just over 7,000 kilowatts of electricity.
Our Rancho Bernardo solar power customers are essential to helping us achieve our ultimate goal of leading a solar energy revolution across Southern California.
