The GL Stevens Community Center is one of the first LEED buildings in San Diego. LEED is an acronym for Leadership in Energy Effieiciency and Design. The system was designed by Sullivan Solar Power for ILA Zammit engineering. When designing the solar power system certain consultants claimed the design wasn't large enough to hit the kilo-watt hour design goal. Rather than oversize the system and charge our customer more than needed, Sullivan Solar Power relied on its experience and monitor data to guarantee the system would produce projected amounts. It has. In fact it has out produced Sullivan's projections and proven that when Sullivan Solar Power states a solar power system will produce a given kilowatt hour yield, it does. This solar power system uses the Uni-Solar laminate module which is specifically designed for metal roofs. The end result is an attractive design that produces well in adverse conditions.
