Irvine Solar Power: UCI Mesa Court
Mesa Court is a housing community for first-year students at the University of California, Irvine. It's also solar powered, thanks to Sullivan Solar Power.
In 2016, we installed a 93-kilowatt-AC solar power system on the roof of the building, consisting of 324 Kyocera solar panels and five SMA inverters to turn the sun's rays into renewable electricity.
The panels and other solar power equipment were installed on a custom built steel super structure to position them at the ideal angle to optimize the system's efficiency.
On average, each year a solar energy system this size will:
Generate 139,785 to 186,380 kilowatt hours of clean renewable solar power.
Avoid the creation of 231,111 pounds of harmful carbon dioxide released into our air.
Provide the system owner with $41,004 in Solar Power Savings.
