St. Michael's Church Poway Solar Power
Sullivan Solar Power designed, built and installed a solar power system for St. Michaelęs Church in Poway in the spring of 2015.
The 324 kilowatt system consists of 1,001 Sunpower 327 W modules and provides the parish with nearly 85 percent of its electrical energy needs. The parish paid cash for the system, which will provide for a first-year savings of more than $161,000 and more than $5.7 million in savings over the next 25 years.
The churchęs pastor, Rev. John Dolan, commended Sullivan Solar Poweręs professionalism, effectiveness and dedication to the project.
–The relationship and mutual commitment to energy sustainability that Sullivan Solar Power established with us more than a year ago continues to this day and has enabled our community to reap the benefits of a highly reliable and efficient system,” the pastor said.
I was thinking of the fact that we are Corporation Soul, and Sullivan is a Sol Corporation. I was thinking how we bring the Good News of the Son to everyone, and you guys bring the Power of the Sun to everyone. And I think this is an electrifying moment.
On average, each year a solar energy system this size will:
Generate 480,000 to 640,000 kilowatt hours of clean renewable solar power.
Avoid the creation of 793,600 pounds of harmful carbon dioxide released into our air.
Provide the system owner with $140,800 in Solar Power Savings.
