With renewable energy expected to be the fastest growing source of U.S. electricity generation for at least the next two years, local solar installer Sullivan Solar Power is greatly contributing to the country's energy mix at a local level. Solar Power World magazine has recognized Sullivan as the top Solar + Storage Installer on the magazine’s 2019 Top Solar Contractors list: Solar + Storage, honoring solar installers' early efforts of coupling the two technologies for customers.

Sullivan Solar Power also achieved a ranking of 110 in Solar Power World’s Top Solar Contractors List, climbing five spots from last year’s ranking of 115.

The Top Solar Contractors list is developed by Solar Power World to recognize the work completed by solar contractors across the United States. Produced annually, the Top Solar Contractors list celebrates the achievements of U.S. solar developers, subcontractors and installers within the utility, commercial and residential markets, and ranks contractors by kilowatts installed in the previous year.

"Solar Power World enjoys assembling the Top Solar Contractors list each year, and our 2019 edition features hundreds of companies making big impacts in local energy markets," said Kelly Pickerel, editor in chief of Solar Power World. "Solar power is becoming competitive with traditional electricity sources in more markets, and cities and states are demanding more renewable energy options. It's a great time to be a solar installer, and we're happy to highlight the best installation companies in the country on our list."

The U.S. solar market is expected to see 14 percent growth in 2019, with over 12 gigawatts of new solar power added to the grid this year — enough to power 2.28 million average American homes. This increase in installations is attributed to strong residential solar interest and a rush to get projects in before the 30 percent federal investment tax credit steps down to 26 percent next year. "Despite the utility’s attempt to keep us addicted to fossil fuels, we have the cost-effective technology to declare energy independence," said founder and president of Sullivan Solar Power, Daniel Sullivan, "There is no better time to go solar than right now, where you can take advantage of 30 percent tax credit, which will be expiring soon."

Sullivan Solar Power has been a leading force in the efforts to promote the energy storage market, predicting the importance energy storage for backup power and emerging time-of-use rate structures. In 2018, Sullivan Solar Power was recognized as the top developer of energy storage in the San Diego Gas & Electric and Southern California Edison utility territories, per the state’s Self Generation Incentive Program (SGIP). Today, Sullivan Solar Power remains a top tier developer of energy storage in Southern California and has installed over 650 LG Chem residential energy storage units.

Sullivan Solar Power is a 15-year-old, turnkey provider that delivers solar photovoltaic and energy storage projects from concept to completion. The company has installed 8,500+ systems and over 80,000,000 watts of solar power ranging from small-scale residential to large-scale commercial and municipal systems. In 2018, Sullivan Solar Power completed the installation of the largest solar power system in Major League Baseball at Petco Park for the San Diego Padres. Sullivan Solar Power is a top energy storage developer in the SDG&E and Southern California Edison territories and remains the only company serving San Diego and Orange County to have a NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) Company Accreditation.

"We are proud of our accomplishments in bringing about our company mission of changing the way this region generates electricity," stated Sullivan, "Our ranking as the number one Southern California residential solar and storage developer is recognition of the work our entire team puts in to properly educate home and business owners and let them know they have a better choice of how they get their electricity."
