La Jolla Solar Power: Leichtag Biomedical Research Building
Sullivan Solar Power designed, built and installed a solar power installation for the Leichtag Biomedical Research Building at UCSD in La Jolla in 2014. The building houses classrooms and research facilities for the top-ranked biomedical research program.
The 73-kilowatt solar panel system consists of 192 Sunpower panels and an Advanced Energy inverter. The panels and other social power components were ballasted mounted on the roof of the building.
On average, each year a solar energy system this size will:
Generate 109,500 to 146,000 kilowatt hours of clean renewable solar power.
Avoid the creation of 181,040 pounds of harmful carbon dioxide released into our air.
Provide the system owner with $32,120 in Solar Power Savings.
